It's even more fun if you're both new to the series. I'm the same as you, I just enjoy playing games with my friends because playing games with friends is fun. I'm not sure why the concept of 'Fun with friends' eludes these players and leads them to believe that there is some secondary reason for wanting to co-op. Even though it's a feature in the game implemented for the exact reason of enjoying the game with friends, people will always complain that co-op automaticially means you want easy mode, or to be carried, or some other dumb reason. Asking a question about co-op is like a freaking sin or a blasphemous concept to some of these people. Unfortunately, the Dark Souls community is home to some of the most idiotic players ever. The point about replaying the levels is ok. I can't justify spending $60 on a game that makes it hard to enjoy with my friends.

So to this end, I can see that some of you are telling me that dark souls may not be the game for us. I'm not a fan of single player games, because I myself am a social gamer.

They could even implement a system that scales up the difficulty like many other games do. All I want is to experience the game on my first play through with my friend (both as new players).
