Well, you don’t have to twist my arm! We arrived shortly after 12PM and were seated promptly. We were attending a conference at the nearby Westin Bayshore and weren’t necessarily feeling the lunch buffet offerings. I came here, for the very first time, with a colleague of mine. Given the fact that Cardero’s has been around for 26 years (a lifetime by today’s restaurant standards), it’s surprising I haven’t patronized this establishment until recently. In either case, it is win-win and represents some of the best Vancouver has to offer. enjoy the views of Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains. Afterwards, you can continue ambling about the neighbourhood en route to Stanley Park or just. Open since 1997, Cardero’s is situated in Coal Harbour and adjacent to Vancouver’s iconic Seawall thus, if you’re strolling through the area, it’s a convenient stop for lunch or dinner. The prices are average for Vancouver, while the service was good. The view, if your seated by a window, is nice, at the restaurant over looks a marina. The side portions were so small that I had to order an appetizer and bread after my meal, just to feel satiated. This meal was disappointing, because I expected more from a restaurant’s “signature” dish. There was just a tiny scoop of Wok Fried Rice which was a bit too salty, as it was mixed with too much Soy Sauce. The Salmon was nicely cooked, but the flavour was just ok. The Salmon was it either basted or marinated in a Brown Sugar/Soy Sauce. There was nothing special here that you wouldn’t find at a place like Moxie’s. There were basically 2 tiny Carrots, 2 tiny Green Beans and a thin slice of grilled Zucchini. It was plated nicely, but I was a bit surprised with the very small amount of rice it came with and how unimaginative and minimal the “seasonal” Vegetables were. I ordered the Cardero’s Signature Cedar Plank Salmon, as the server was quick to point out how it has been their “signature” dish over the past 32 years. Main and two ordered halibut dinners, 3 beers 1 wine no appetizers no desserts one coffee, plus 6 oysters and it was a $300 bill I should’ve ordered more as I came home and I was very hungry if they were charging for it there should’ve been more than three slices. The bread was nice but they could’ve brought that by a few more times. It had other chunky vegetables in it not at all like a chowder would be almost like a scrap soup they threw in leftover vegetables.$15 It was a tomato-based but it was chunky you could tell it was canned diced tomatoes thrown in this chowder. I have to say it was one of my worst chowders I’ve ever had and I’ve had many on the different coasts. I saw the chowder going by that looked appealing so that’s what I had for my main entrée We all thought the price tag of these Entrees were high for the serving size. We now got a table outside and the staff were attentive.

was nice but it could’ve been a little stronger in flavour. There was four of us and we had to wait for the patio as it was a nice warm day so we had drinks to start at the bar. The view and ambiance at this restaurant was wonderful.
